The future store of Kelsey and Sarah Schmitz

As some of you may have noticed, my sister in-law posted a far fetched dream of us going into business in the book/coffee retail, and making big bucks. You may laugh, you may shrug it off.
But what do I do in response to this post?
I propose to one day accomplish just that: open this store my sister in-law has dreamt up in her fanciful and delightful mind.
It may take some saving, and some collecting of used books and other items we'd place in our shop, but it will happen! Hey sarah, what do you say? are you game? We could even sell some of my aunts stain glass, and local art work. It would be awesome. We could bake stuff too!! and sell it!! Frappes and Italian Ice in the summer, Mochas and cappuchinos in the winter....I'm thinking a japanese theme decor, you know, dark wood, cream walls, orchids abounding...a fountain! and tons of comfy chairs and couches....a bar stretched along one wall with stools all up to it for homework to be spread out on. We could do mossaics on all the tables with tiles.

Not to worry world, We'll be brain storming, and get back to you on when opening day will be...and where for that matter.

I love the decor ideas and the thought of selling original artwork too...fabulous. We've gotta get your mom and grandmama in on the baking action. Tim could do the books and the taxes since I'm pretty sure we'd be a total flop at that. Now we just have to get our legions of wealthy friends and family to take a chance and invest some capital in our coffee enterprise...

Perfect. It shall one day happen!!
Jamie, Will you invest in our coffee shop when you're a millionaire movie director?

Kelsey Catherine said...

Oh and since you have deli experience, we could attempt that too once things get up and going.

OK, Sarah...do you have any idea which wealthy friends and family you will hit up for $$? Hmmm...

Sarah, Dad wants to know if he can help in the store...I told him he could do the landscaping and pull weeds...hahaha.
AND! i just had a brilliant idea! your mom would love being another manager, you know, for the days when micah dyes eva's hair green, and i've got to teach morbid teenagers!

Well Jersey girl we've got your number! I think Dad should absolutely work in the store. He can make conversation with complete strangers...that's a skill in and of itself!

Sarah, I think we should start a list of potential investors....Does your post mean you're signing up CJ? :)

And it'll have to be in a chic little tourist town. Second on our to do list: Find a location, ideal area...we've got 2 countries to work with here

Kelsey Catherine said...

And one more thing....I think we should have some sort of patio or terrace...it could even be on the roof...that could be an expansion idea

If that point comes to find me as a millionaire director I may even ask permission to use your place as a film location :)

Hey, Kelsey
There are some chic little tourist towns here on the Jersey Shore...then maybe we'd get to see more of the babies (who will probably be teenagers by then anyway). Let's dream this as a real "family affair", what do you say? CJ

Cj, i think thats a great idea! Those types of shops do wonderfully here in vancouver. We have a very populare seaside town called white rock. If we could find a place in jersey with the same feel, i'm sure sarah would be game...and if the girls are teenagers, they'll bring in business, all their friends and all..hehe

You've got it J, anytime!

Wow! One little idea that keeps going and going and going...I love the Jersey shore!

Kelsey Catherine said...

OK that does it then! When i make it back in august, at trip to jersey it is!! besides, i want to hit up new york city before i start school in the fall...hehe...all these ideas mean its just something that should happen my dear!

Sarah said...

I can never get tired on NYC or the ocean...I'm marking my calender!

When you're here in August will you be scouting out future locations in Jersey? (I have always wanted to run a Bed & Breakfast Inn in some quaint little town on the shore. Lots of coffee involved with that along with gigantic breakfasts; and of course we'd need a well stocked library with a fireplace with lots of original artworks hanging.) How 'bout that as a side business?

You know CJ, when i was little, I stayed in a B and B in New york state, and it was like living in another world, is was so pretty and old fashioned...and i've always wanted to own one, a little idea. Well now, We have 3 venues in one going now ladies...in little over a week, we've created a would be empire!!

As to Jersey and New York in August sarah, we're making it happen, i want a bit of fun before i'm strapped down to the grind of school and working

EEKK! This post will soon depart from the main page!! Will this be the end of the future store of Kelsey and Sarah (plus CJ) discussions!?!?!?!

Next post and our dream dies...or does it? Count down to August!
